Yes, it has gorgeous sugary white sand, and the surf is usually calm and relaxing, and yes, it is a great beach for families. I mean, after all, it is one of the top-rated beaches in the United States but do you really want to go on another beach vacation? UH… YES!!!!

Try some fishing at Pier 60, a 1080 foot fishing pier complete with a bait house, store, and snack bar, and if the little ones are not all that interested in fishing, right in front of the entrance to the pier is one of the largest playgrounds on the Gulf.
Rent a bike and go biking on the Pinellas trail, learn to surf on an indoor surfing machine. How about parasailing off the back of a boat getting breathtaking views. Rent a unique, fun ride scooter and explore the street sights of Gulf Blvd or perhaps a jet ski for some on the water action.
Pier 60 also offers sunsets nightly!! A great spot to view the sun sinking into the Gulf waters, a beautiful sight indeed. In fact, at Pier 60, they celebrate sunset every day from 6 pm to 9 pm, featuring arts and crafts, street performers, and more.
Clearwater beach has a wide variety of boat tours available, from dolphin watching to eco-tours to sunset cruises and even a pirate ship cruise. Prices and duration vary.

Meet Clearwater Beach’s resident movie stars, Winter and Hope, at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Winter played the starring role in the Motion Picture A Dolphin Tale, and Hope starred in Dolphin Tale 2.

Clearwater Beach Hotels and Resorts
All the big-name hotels are there, like Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Wyndham, and Holiday inn, but there are also some exceptional boutique hotels there as well. Another option would be a private rental of one of the numerous condos in the beach area.
ITEMS OF NOTE
Parking can be a challenge as Clearwater beach can get very busy. If you stay at one of the hotels on the beach, then parking should be included in your stay; however, if you are staying off the beach and driving over, daily parking costs will start at $20 per day and up. An unlimited daily pass for the Jolley Trolley is $5.00
Most of the facilities at Clearwater beach meet ADA requirements, and special beach wheelchairs are available for rent at Fun Rides at the cost of around $65 per day.
Dogs are not allowed on Clearwater beach; however, there is a dog park at nearby Sand Key.
