Lettuce Lake

A Beautiful Nature Park Right Within the City of Tampa

Lettuce Lake Park is a 240-acre conservation Park located within Tampa and near the University of South Florida. The park’s property lies in the natural floodplain of the Hillsborough River, allowing visitors a leisurely nature stroll through a hardwood swamp forest.

There are three types of trails at Lettuce Lake Park, a 3,500-foot boardwalk trail along the river, a paved 1.25-mile walking/biking trail, and natural dirt nature trails that meander through the park. All the trails are well shaded keeping walkers a few degrees cooler. Because you are walking through a thick swamp, the application of insect repellent is highly recommended.

Canoes and kayaks are available for rent allowing visitors to view the park from a completely different perspective. The rental fee is $25.00 for 4 hours and an additional $10 for every hour thereafter.

Restrooms, picnic facilities, and a playground area are all provided.

John and I found this park to be absolutely beautiful. While we were walking on the boardwalk, I kept thinking that this would be a terrific place to bring the grandkids. The park is full of opportunities to teach young children about plants, wildlife, and the importance of conservation, all while having a wonderful time.

Lettuce Lake Park is located at 6920 East Fletcher AvenueTampa, FL. The entrance fee is $2 per vehicle for up to 8 people.
