Time to Take a Hike… Finally

The State of Florida has begun it’s phase I plan to open up and let people back to their favorite places to go for outdoor activities. Most beaches, County and State Parks, and nature trails are back open and ready for visitors to enjoy. However, for the people who are ready to get out but are reluctant to be back among a crowd, a beach or a park may not be a comfortable choice. Not to fear, You can still get outdoors in Florida and still be able to be at a good social distance at one of over 1,400 Florida, walking, biking, or hiking trails.

Today John and I took advantage of a beautiful Florida spring day and hit a hiking trail in Holiday, Florida. Key Vista Nature Park’s 101 acres along the scenic Gulf of Mexico, has multiple easy walking boardwalks and sandy trails, providing opportunities to spot all kinds of birds and other wildlife.

There are scenic views at every turn with benches strategically placed for one to sit and enjoy them. For an even better view of the Gulf of Mexico, climb the observation tower, and be prepared for an awesome sight.

Park Amenities

Hiking is great exercise and after being cooped up for the last couple of months, John and I need it. It was great to see others out enjoying the trail, fishing, and boating. Being out and seeing others out gave us a feeling of normalcy in a situation that is far from normal.
