Our Florida Journey took us today to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa and I can tell you that this place will rival any Hotel/Casino on the Vegas strip. It is upscale, elegant, and glamorous and all wrapped around a lot of rock and roll. Walk into this massive complex any hour of the day or night, and the place is hopping with music and excitement and with over 4000 slot machines, table games galore, and a full poker room, it is non-stop action.
There are hundreds upon hundreds of pieces of music memorabilia everywhere you look. Still, the one piece that caught my eye instantly was the Elvis Piano – A 1928 Kimball Company Grand Piano plated with 24K gold leaf and played by Elvis Presley while in the music room of his Graceland home in Memphis, TN.
One can spend hours just walking around this massive complex and looking at all the music history pieces that seem to be in every nook and cranny, from the walls to the ceiling.
All this play and excitement is sure to make one hungry, and I counted no less than 11 restaurants where you could either grab a quick bite or, if you prefer, have an elegant and sophisticated meal.
At Council Oak, you can enjoy an elegant and sophisticated dining experience of fresh seafood and prime steak or for a more casual yet still sophisticated experience, there is The Rez, an upscale American grill. Of course, there is the Hard Rock Cafe where Rock and Roll meets a good old-fashioned American hamburger.
There are noodle bars, sushi bars, a food court, and if you are really hungry, go upstairs to The Fresh Harvest Buffet, where you will find seven live-action kitchens with everything from soup and salads to seafood to dessert to everything in between.
Let’s not forget the adult beverages as there are plenty of places to get a cocktail, or perhaps indulge in a glass of fine wine?
It is gaming in a lavish environment of crystal and all the glamorous trimmings leaving everyone with the feeling of being a high roller.
A stay at the Hard Rock Hotel will no doubt make one feel like they are getting the rock star treatment, with 3 pools, the Rock & Spa Salon Concierge Services, Property-wide, Hi-Speed Wireless Internet, 24-Hour In-Room Dining, and rooms that are both comfortable and luxurious.
Our gaming luck was not with us on our visit, but we still had a fantastic time viewing the memorabilia, enjoying a delicious meal, and marveling at all the extravagance of the decor. Of course, I have to mention that a day of gambling, eating, and drinking does not come cheap, so be prepared to shell out some cash, especially if you like the slot machines like I do!! If you do visit the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, and it is your first visit, be sure to sign up for a players card. The Players card is free, and they have first-timer promotions that include a good amount of free money to play on your first time there.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa is located at 5223 N Orient Road Tampa, Florida 33610, just off Interstate 4 and only about 25 minutes from Tampa International Airport.
