There is nothing more Beautiful to me than a Florida Sunset over the Gulf of Mexico and no two are ever the same. What makes Fort Myers Beach special is that it is one of the more affordable beach stays in Florida especially in the summer months. There are many options for lodging from condos to hotels to small cottages and at price points to fit most every budget.
When we got to the top of the bridge and we could see the view of the Gulf of Mexico ahead of us, it took my breath away. I am a life long Floridan and have seen my share of beach views so the fact that I was so moved over this one really says a lot.
Just over the bridge is a little beach village with shops and restaurants and drinking establishments with entertainment and just good ole Florida beach fun. We had a difficult time choosing which restaurant to eat at because all of the menus looked yummy but we ended up choosing Nervous Nellies for the very cool view and because the place just looked fun. I ordered Jambalaya and it was the best I have ever had. John had fried shrimp and he said it was good but not near as good as my Jambalaya.
There is plenty to do in the area besides just the beach fun. if you are a history buff visit the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford winter estates in Fort Myers. If you are feeling a little lucky try out that luck at the Seminole Casino in Immokalee about 45 miles away. If you are a golfer there are some beautiful golf courses in the area or if you like me and are not so good at golf then maybe one of the many putt putt courses would be more suitable?
Whatever type of beach vacation you are looking for whether laid back or action packed, nature lover or lounge chair junkie, Fort Myers Beach will definitely not disapoint.
Fort Myers Bach is convenient to Southwest Florida International Airport which is only about 20 miles away in Fort Myers.
